Lily, a bright-eyed toddler with curly hair and an insatiable curiosity, toddled over to the table. Her tiny fingers reached for the coloring book, flipping it open with a delighted giggle. Each page was a world waiting to be brought to life with color.
"Look, Mama, a dragon!" Lily exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder. She picked up a green crayon and began to fill in the scales of a friendly-looking dragon, who seemed to smile back at her from the page.
"The dragon wants to play with the unicorn," she announced, grabbing a pink crayon to color the unicorn's mane. The creatures seemed to leap from the pages, their playful antics imagined in vivid detail.
Lily paused, her gaze thoughtful as she considered the next page. "Maybe the forest has a secret path," she mused, choosing a deep brown crayon to outline the winding trail that led through the trees.
"Did you have fun, sweetheart?" her mother asked, kneeling beside her.
"Yes, Mama! The dragon and unicorn are best friends now," Lily replied, her voice filled with the satisfaction of a day well spent.
Lily yawned, rubbing her eyes with a sleepy hand. Her mother gently closed the coloring book, tucking it away for another day. "Tomorrow, maybe you'll find more friends for your dragon and unicorn," she suggested softly.
"Yes, tomorrow," Lily agreed, her voice trailing off as she drifted into dreams filled with color and adventure.
