Lila sat cross-legged on her bed, her eyes fixed on the small raindrops racing down the glass. She clutched Mr. Snuggles tightly, seeking the comfort his worn fur always promised. "I don't know why I feel like this," Lila whispered, her voice barely rising above the rain's melody.
Lila leaned closer to Mr. Snuggles. "Everything feels so overwhelming. School, friends... even myself," she admitted, her eyes searching those of the teddy bear for understanding. "Why can't I just be happy?"
Lila sighed deeply, her thoughts swirling like the storm outside. "Maybe it's okay not to be okay sometimes," she mused aloud. The soft plush of Mr. Snuggles against her cheek seemed to nod in agreement, as if to say that feelings were valid, no matter how messy.
Lila turned to Mr. Snuggles, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Thank you for listening," she said softly, cuddling him closer. "I think I just needed someone to talk to, even if you can't talk back."
Lila closed her eyes, feeling the tension begin to dissipate. She knew she would face more storms, but with Mr. Snuggles by her side, there was a comfort in knowing she wasn't alone. "Good night, Mr. Snuggles," she murmured, drifting into a peaceful sleep as the last drops of rain tapped gently on the window.
