"Mom, can we make cookies today?" the little boy asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Of course, sweetie! Let's make them extra special," his mom replied with a loving smile.
"I love mixing the dough, Mommy. It feels funny!"
"You're doing a great job! Now, let's add the chocolate chips," she said as she handed him a bowl filled with sweet morsels.
"Look, they're getting bigger!" he exclaimed, pressing his nose against the oven door.
"And soon they'll be ready to eat," his mom assured him, enjoying his delight.
"I can't wait to taste them," he said, bouncing in his seat.
"Patience, my little baker. They'll be worth the wait," she chuckled.
"Yummy! These are the best cookies ever!"
"I'm so glad you like them. We make a great team," his mom replied, giving him a hug.
"Can we bake together again soon, Mommy?" he asked, his eyes sleepy but happy.
"Absolutely. Anytime you want," she promised, tucking him into bed with a kiss goodnight.
