Tristan lay sprawled on the couch, his eyes glued to the colorful cartoons flickering on the screen. Beside him, Princess Peachy, the energetic dachshund, wagged her tail lazily, enjoying the warmth of the room. "It's too windy out there, Peachy. Let's just enjoy a quiet day inside," Tristan suggested, reaching over to scratch her gently behind the ears.
Tristan's mom busted in, wiping her hands on a kitchen towel. "Why not make some special treats for Princess Peachy instead? We can even share them with Marcus later," she proposed, her eyes twinkling with the joy of a fun idea. Tristan sat up, intrigued by the thought of a new activity.
Tristan and his mom began measuring flour and oats, while Princess Peachy watched curiously from her spot on the floor. "I think Peachy is just as excited as we are," Tristan chuckled, glancing at her with a smile. "Let's make sure these treats are extra special," his mom replied, adding a dash of cinnamon to the mix.
Tristan peeked through the oven window, watching the cookies rise and brown. Princess Peachy wagged her tail furiously, sensing that something delicious was on the way. "I think Peachy is ready for a taste test," his mom laughed, pulling the tray from the oven.
Tristan handed a small cookie to Princess Peachy, who devoured it with enthusiasm. "I think she approves!" he declared, watching her lick her chops happily. His mom nodded, "Let's pack some up for Marcus. He'll love them too," she said, wrapping a few in a tin.
Tristan settled back on the couch, Princess Peachy curled up beside him, both content with their day's adventure. "Thanks, Mom. Today was really fun," he said, feeling the warmth of family and home. His mom smiled, "It's amazing what a little creativity can do, isn't it?" she said, turning off the kitchen light as they all settled in for a cozy evening.
