Maisie, the adventurous little sister, stood on her tiptoes, her eyes wide with excitement as she watched her big sister, Marra, prepare the ingredients for their cupcake adventure.
"What do we do first, Marra?"
Marra smiled, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "First, we gather all our ingredients and set them out. It's important to be organized, especially when baking." Maisie nodded eagerly, her small hands reaching for the bag of sugar as Marra pointed to it.
Marra carefully measured the flour, letting it sift into the mixing bowl like soft snow. Maisie, with a determined look, cracked an egg with surprising precision. "Great job, Maisie! Remember to keep your fingers away from the mixer blades," Marra instructed, her tone both gentle and firm.
Marra slid the tray of cupcake batter into the oven. Maisie watched intently, her face a mask of concentration. "How long do they need to bake?" she asked. "About twenty minutes, just enough time for us to clean up," Marra replied, handing Maisie a dishcloth.
Maisie, covered in flour, looked sheepishly at Marra, who burst into laughter. "Well, that's a reminder to be careful with the flour bag!" Marra said, wiping flour off her sister's nose. The mishap turned into a giggle-filled moment, reinforcing their lesson in caution.
Maisie took a bite of her cupcake, her eyes lighting up with delight. "These are the best cupcakes ever!" she exclaimed. Marra smiled, pulling her sister into a hug. "We make a great team, Maisie. And we've learned a lot about being safe in the kitchen today." Their laughter echoed through the kitchen, a testament to their strengthened bond and shared adventure.
