Lily, a clever little girl with an insatiable curiosity, stood by the counter, her eyes narrowed in determination. She was on a mission.
Lily knelt down, her finger tracing the path of the footprints. "These are too small to be anyone in the family," she mused aloud. Her mind raced with possibilities.
Lily tiptoed across the room, her heart pounding with anticipation. As she rounded the couch, her gaze fell upon Biscuit, the family’s mischievous little puppy, huddled with a guilty look.
"Did you take the cookie, Biscuit?" The puppy let out a small whine, nudging the half-eaten cookie towards her with his nose. "I see," Lily said, her voice softening.
"You know, Biscuit, it's not nice to take things without asking," she explained. Biscuit wagged his tail slowly, as if understanding. "But I forgive you. Just remember to be honest next time," Lily continued, smiling at him.
Lily recounted her detective story, each family member listening intently, chuckling at the puppy's antics. "Maybe we should bake more cookies tomorrow," her father suggested, laughter echoing through the cozy home.
