Lila, a bright-eyed and curious 8-year-old, raced across the grassy field, her ponytail bouncing with each step. She was on her way to meet her friends at the park, eager to share her recent experience about a special day.
"Hey, everyone! Guess what I did yesterday?" she called out, gathering her friends around her.
Lila settled down on the cool grass, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Her friends leaned in, intrigued by what she was about to say. "I had a supervised visit," Lila began. "It's a time when I get to see my other parent, and there's someone there to make sure everything goes smoothly."
Lila described the setting, her hands gesturing animatedly. She explained that The Supervisor, watched over the visit, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The Supervisor was really nice, Lila said. She helped us play games and talked to us if we needed anything. It felt like having an extra friend around.
Lila smiled, recalling the warmth of the visit. "It was so good to spend time with my other parent," she shared. "Even though we don't live together, these visits make me feel really close to them."
Her friends nodded, understanding the importance of those moments.
One of her friends, a boy with curly hair, asked, "What else do you do during the visit?" Lila thought for a moment. "We do lots of fun activities," she replied and The Supervisor always makes sure we're having a good time and being safe.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, Lila concluded her story.
"I really like these visits," she said softly. "They remind me that no matter what, I have people who care about me."
Her friends smiled, understanding the comfort and happiness these visits brought to their friend, knowing that sometimes, even the smallest connections can mean the world.
