Sammy is a curious little boy with a blue backpack. He stands on the sidewalk, ready to go to the park. He looks left and right, excited to begin his adventure.
"I want to go to the park and play! But I must be careful on the road,"
Sammy walks to the crosswalk. He sees a police officer in a shiny hat, smiling and waving.
"Hello, Sammy! Do you see the stop sign? What should you do before you cross?"
"I must stop and look both ways!"
The police officer points to the traffic light. Sammy watches the colors change and the cars move.
"When the light is green and the cars have stopped, you can cross safely,"
"Green means go, and red means stop!"
Sammy holds his little hand up and steps carefully onto the crosswalk. He walks slowly, looking left, right, and left again.
"I am safe because I follow the rules,"
Sammy runs to the playground, feeling happy and proud. He remembers the traffic signs and the kind police officer.
"I had fun walking safely! I will always obey the traffic rules,"
Sammy waves at the police officer, who smiles back from the street.
"Thank you for teaching me!"
"You are welcome, Sammy! Stay safe and have fun,"
