Lily awoke with a start, blinking at the strange lack of vibrancy in her room. Her once-red pillow now looked gray, as did her blue blanket, which lay draped over her legs. She sat up, rubbing her eyes in disbelief, trying to shake off what seemed like a bizarre dream.
Lily rushed outside, her heart pounding in her chest. The trees, the sky, even the flowers—all were stripped of color. She turned in circles, searching for a hint of the world as she knew it. "Where did all the colors go?" she called out to the wind, but it offered no reply.
Determined to find answers, Lily made her way to the forest, hoping someone or something within might hold the key to this strange transformation. The trees whispered secrets as she passed, their branches swaying gently in the breeze.
Lily paused at a curious sight—a small door nestled within a tree trunk. She knocked, the sound echoing in the stillness. Knock knock! It swung open to reveal a bright-eyed gnome, though he too was shrouded in gray. The Gnome "We are the Rainbow Keepers," he explained, his voice tinged with worry. "But the rainbow is broken."
Lily followed the gnome inside, her eyes widening at the sight of the empty jars. "We need the Red of a rose, the Orange of a sunset, and the rest," the gnome continued. A determined smile spread across Lily's face. "I can help," she declared.
Lily set off to gather the colors: a red rose, orange fruit, yellow sunflower, green leaf, blue marble, indigo ribbon, and violet crayon. As she poured each into the jars, the colors swirled up and filled the sky. The world burst into vibrant life once more. "Color is back!" she laughed, watching the colors dance across the horizon.
