Lila, with her wild brown curls, squints out the window in disbelief. Jasper, usually the first to race outside, hesitates at the door. Mina, the youngest, clutches her stuffed rabbit, her eyes wide with confusion.
"Did someone spill paint everywhere while we were sleeping?"
"Maybe the world is broken," adds Jasper, voice trembling.
Mina giggles nervously as a yellow panda ambles closer, its eyes friendly and curious. Lila kneels to touch a blade of blue grass, marveling at its softness.
"Look! Even the pandas got mixed up. Do you think they're happy like this?"
"I don't know, but it's kind of beautiful," Lila replies, her worry slowly fading.
Jasper tosses a pebble into the violet waves, watching ripples spread in shades of lavender and indigo. Lila closes her eyes, letting the strange beauty of the moment fill her imagination.
"If colors can be anywhere, maybe we can imagine anything we want," Jasper muses thoughtfully.
"Let's pretend we're wizards who can switch colors with a snap," Lila suggests, waving her arms dramatically.
"I wish for pink mountains and green rain!"
"And rainbow pandas who can do magic tricks," Jasper adds, grinning widely.
Lila looks around, noticing how everyone seems happier and more open, their imaginations sparked by the unusual sights. Mina hugs her yellow panda plush, feeling braver than ever.
"Maybe the world isn't broken at all. Maybe it just wanted us to see things differently,"
"I hope the colors stay mixed up just a little longer," Jasper whispers, gazing at the purple waves one last time.
"Me too. It makes every day feel like an adventure,"
"No matter what happens, we'll always remember the day the colors woke up in the wrong places,"
