Lila stared at the book, her fingers tracing the drawings of animals and trees. The letters, however, remained a mystery, like scribbles only her big brother could understand. "I wish I could read like him," she sighed, resting her chin on her hands.
Lila blinked in surprise as a tiny voice echoed from the page. The letter B stretched its little arms wide. "Wake up, Lila!" it said with a cheerful bounce. Lila leaned in closer, her eyes wide with wonder.
"You can read, but we need your help! Say my sound—Buh!" the B encouraged. Lila hesitated, then whispered, "Buh?" The B beamed and nodded, proud of her first step. Next was A, who sang, "Aaaah!", and T joined with a crisp, "Tuh-tuh!"
"Buh… aah… tuh… BAT!" Lila exclaimed. The letters leaped up, twirling in the air like confetti. "You did it, Lila! We’re awake now, and you can help us tell stories!" they cheered.
Lila grinned, watching the letters settle back onto the page. From that moment on, her books were no longer just pictures—they were doorways to magical worlds waiting to be explored. She knew that with each sound and word she learned, her adventures would grow even grander.
"Thank you," she whispered to the letters, who twinkled back at her, promising more stories to share and more words to discover. And as the day turned to dusk, Lila knew she had unlocked the magical world of reading, one sound at a time.
