In Wobbletown, where nothing sits straight, lived a jumble of socks—striped, polka-dotted, and zigzagged, all tumbling out of a gigantic laundry basket in the center of the square. The air sparkled with giggles, and the sky was dotted with flying balloons shaped like spoons. On this particular morning, the socks were busy arguing about who got to keep the shiniest, bounciest ball in town.
Stripey Sock, with bands of red and yellow, bounced up and shouted, "It’s my turn! I found the ball first, so I call first bounce and last bounce and every bounce in between!"
Polka Dot Sock, covered in blue and green spots, stamped a toe and replied, "No fair! Yesterday, you had the ball the whole time. Today it’s my turn to hop and bop!"
Meanwhile, Tiny Toe Sock, the smallest and shyest, watched quietly from the edge, wishing for just a single bounce.
Stripey Sock and Polka Dot Sock grabbed each end and pulled. The glittery ball squeaked and stretched, looking terrified.
"If we don’t share, it might POP!" someone squealed from the pile.
But no one listened, not even as the wind carried away a few mismatched socks, tumbling them into the daisies.
Silence fell as the ball deflated, slumping into a shiny pancake. Tiny Toe Sock sniffled, "Now no one can bounce or bop. I just wanted one tiny turn."
The socks looked at each other, realizing that in their scramble, they’d lost the fun for everyone.
Stripey Sock shuffled over to Tiny Toe Sock. "I’m sorry, Tiny Toe. We all wanted the ball, but we forgot to let everyone play. Next time, let’s share and take turns."
Polka Dot Sock nodded, "It’s more fun when we all bounce and bop together. Let’s fix the ball and try again!"
They gathered up the sparkles and, working together, patched the ball with bits of laughter and kindness.
With a great big bounce, the ball soared higher than ever, and this time, every sock had a turn. From that day in Wobbletown, it was known: sharing makes the games brighter, the bounces bigger, and the giggles last much, much longer.
"Three cheers for sharing! Hip-hip-hooray!"
And with every bounce and bop, the silly socks learned that sharing made them all winners.
