Zac the Rat flipped through the pages, savoring the quiet moment.
Gus the Duck giggled as the bug buzzed around him in playful circles.
"Gus, could you please keep it down? The buzzing is quite distracting,"
"Hey, Zachary, let's hit the tub! It'll be fun!"
"For the last time, it's Zac, and no, I want some peace to read!"
"Oh, come on, Zane, don't be a spoilsport!"
"I said leave me alone, Gus!" Zac's voice was sharp, echoing through the meadow.
"Well, fine, if you're going to be grumpy about it!" Gus retorted, wings flapping in irritation.
"Gus, maybe we should just take a moment," Zac suggested, his voice softer, eyes on the horizon.
"Yeah, maybe you're right... uh, Zeke," Gus replied, a small smile returning to his beak.
"Sorry for being loud, Zac," Gus said, his tone genuine.
"And I'm sorry for snapping. It's just, sometimes it's hard to concentrate," Zac admitted, turning a page.
"Maybe tomorrow we can both read and play," Gus suggested, a hopeful glint in his eye.
"That sounds like a plan, Gus," Zac agreed, a smile tugging at his whiskers.
