Annie and Mary stood at the edge of the square, their baskets held tightly in hand. "I can't wait to find the biggest chocolate egg," Annie exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Let's team up and find them all," Mary agreed, her smile as bright as the day itself.
Annie tugged at Mary's sleeve, pointing towards the figure with unease. "Look over there," she whispered. Mary squinted, her heart skipping a beat as she realized that the rabbit was chasing children, sending them scattering in fear. "We have to do something," Mary urged, determination setting in.
Annie suggested a plan, "Let's lure the rabbit away from the kids. We can use our baskets to distract it," she proposed. Mary nodded, adding, "And then we can lead it to the park where the grown-ups are. They’ll know what to do." Their plan set, they took a deep breath, ready to face the daunting task ahead.
Annie and Mary ran as fast as their legs could carry them, adrenaline pumping through their veins. "Keep going, we're almost there," Annie encouraged, glancing back to see the rabbit closing in. Mary urged, "Just a little further!" as they neared the safety of the park.
Mary shouted, "Help! It's chasing us!" Immediately, a group of parents sprang into action, surrounding the rabbit and revealing the mischievous teen within the costume. The crowd sighed in relief as the threat turned out to be merely a prank gone too far.
Annie and Mary sat under a cherry blossom tree, their baskets now filled with treats. "We did it!" Annie cheered, offering Mary a chocolate egg. "We make a great team," Mary replied, her heart swelling with pride. The village celebrated long into the night, and the girls knew this would be an Easter to remember.
