Maya, a curious girl with braids and a red cap, looks at her friends with sparkling eyes.
Samir, her best friend, adjusts his glasses and points towards a distant rustle in the bushes.
"Do you think we'll really see an elephant today?"
"If we follow the tracks like we planned, I bet we will!"
Nia, the youngest, clutches her stuffed animal tightly, her eyes wide.
"Did you hear that? Was that an elephant?"
"It must be close! Let’s be quiet and move slowly," whispers Maya, her excitement barely contained.
The children freeze, awe-struck by the gentle giant before them. Samir takes a cautious step forward, holding out a banana.
"Hello, big friend. Are you hungry?" he says, his voice trembling with excitement.
The elephant reaches out its trunk, curling it around the banana and eating it with a happy rumble.
"I never knew elephants were so friendly," says Maya, patting the elephant’s trunk.
"Can we come visit you again?" asks Nia, grinning.
The elephant nudges Nia gently, as if saying yes.
"Goodbye, friend! We’ll never forget today," calls Samir.
"Let’s promise to protect the jungle and all the animals in it," says Maya, her voice full of hope.
Hand in hand, the children leave, their hearts full of wonder and a new friendship that will last forever.
