Lira, a sprightly elf girl with wild chestnut curls, races alongside her best friend, Finn, who always carries a slingshot tucked into his belt. Their giggles mingle with the melodic hum of the forest city awakening. Between the tree trunks, the city’s crystal spire glints, a symbol of Eloria’s magic and unity.
Tamsin, the cleverest of the young elves, pauses mid-chase and squints at the sky. "Does it feel colder to you? Something’s wrong," she whispers, her fingers brushing the amulet around her neck. The children gather, uneasy, as a rumbling echo rolls from the distant mountains.
Morvena[/@ch_4].]
Morvena, draped in midnight robes, raises her staff and shouts, "Eloria’s magic will be mine! Surrender, or face ruin!" The city’s adults scramble to form a defense, but Lira, Finn, and Tamsin exchange determined glances.
"If we can reach the spire before Morvena, we can use the Heartstone to protect the city," Finn says, voice trembling with both fear and excitement. Tamsin nods, "But we’ll have to sneak past the troll. Lira, you’re the fastest—if anyone can do it, you can."
Lira leads, her heart pounding, as Finn distracts the troll with a well-aimed slingshot, pebbles pinging off stone. Tamsin mutters a quiet spell, cloaking them in silvery mist. "Almost there! Don’t look back!" she urges, as the spire’s entrance appears ahead.
"Foolish children! You cannot defy me!" Morvena sneers, raising her staff. Tamsin steps forward, clutching her amulet, and the three friends join hands, channeling their courage and love for Eloria. Light explodes from the Heartstone, engulfing Morvena and the troll in a wave of pure, shimmering magic.
"We did it, together," Finn says, voice full of wonder. Lira grins, "Eloria is safe, for now. As long as we have each other, we can face anything." Below, the city celebrates, hope and laughter ringing into the sky.
