Lila and Max sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by piles of books that reached up to their shoulders. "Max, look at this one! It's got a dragon on the cover!" exclaimed Lila, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Max, slightly younger but no less enthusiastic, pushed his glasses up his nose and leaned in to see.
"I wonder if it can really breathe fire," mused Max, his voice tinged with awe. The siblings shared a glance, their imaginations already soaring beyond the attic walls.
picked up the book with the dragon and opened it carefully. "Let's start with the first page," she suggested, tracing her finger over the letters. Max nodded, eager to dive into the story. "It's amazing how these squiggles can tell a story," Max remarkeLilad, his fingers brushing against the page. They slowly began piecing together the words, each new one a small victory.
Lila gasped, "Max, it's like we’re right there with them, riding dragons and casting spells!" Her voice was filled with wonder. Max, eyes wide, could almost feel the dragon's scales beneath his fingers.
"I never knew reading could be like this. It's like magic!" Max said, his smile broad and genuine. The siblings continued to read, their voices mingling with the whispers of the attic.
Lila paused, looking at Max with affection. "I'm glad we're doing this together," she said softly. Max nodded, his expression mirroring her sentiment.
"Me too. It's like our own little adventure," Max replied, his voice filled with warmth. They shared a quiet moment, the bond between them growing stronger with each story they read.
Lila closed the book gently, a satisfied smile on her face. "We’ve got so many more to explore," she said, gesturing to the stacks of books around them. Max nodded eagerly, already looking forward to their next adventure.
"Tomorrow, we'll conquer another story," Max declared with determination. The attic, once a dusty old space, had become a gateway to endless worlds, each more magical than the last.
