Lily sat in the backseat, clutching her favorite stuffed bunny, her eyes wide with both excitement and a touch of fear. Her mother glanced back reassuringly. "It's going to be fun, sweetheart. Dr. Patel is really nice."
As they entered, Lily's grip on her mother's hand tightened. The cheerful receptionist waved them over with a smile. Dr. Patel emerged from the hallway, his white coat as bright as his friendly grin. "Hello, Lily! Ready for a little adventure?"
Dr. Patel guided Lily to the chair, adjusting it to her height. "This is where the magic happens," he explained, twinkling eyes meeting hers. Lily giggled nervously. "Do you like stories?" he asked, pulling up a stool.
Lily's eyes widened in wonder as Dr. Patel spoke of shimmering fairy dust and tooth castles. "And every time you brush, you help the fairies build their castle!" he declared, making brushing sound like an exciting quest.
"Let's see if any fairies have left you a message," he said, holding a small mirror. Lily nodded, feeling brave. As he examined her teeth, he narrated a tale of good dental habits and heroic battles against "sugar monsters."
"You were a fantastic patient, Lily," Dr. Patel applauded, handing her a small bag of dental goodies. Lily beamed proudly, the earlier apprehension replaced with joy. As they left, she looked up at her mother. "I can't wait to tell my friends about the tooth fairies!"
