Mia, a curious and thoughtful child, steps inside, her sneakers squeaking softly. She gazes at the towering shelves and whispers, "Is this really where you can borrow feelings?"
Mr. Reed, the kindly librarian with silver hair and a twinkle in his eye, greets Mia. "Welcome to the Feelings Library. Here, every book lets you experience its emotion. Which feeling would you like to borrow today?"
"I wish I could feel brave," Mia replies, her voice trembling.
"To borrow courage, you just need to open the book and let it share its story with you," Mr. Reed explains, handing her the book. Mia opens it and instantly feels her heart beat stronger. She imagines herself standing up in class, speaking confidently, climbing trees, and facing her fears.
"I’m scared, but maybe I can help," Mia says, her voice steadier. She walks over and begins picking up the books, feeling the courage from the story surge within her. "That’s the spirit, Mia," calls Mr. Reed, smiling.
"Maybe I can borrow calm now," Mia muses. She opens the book and breathes deeply, feeling a gentle tranquility wash over her. The room seems softer, and her worries fade.
"Thank you for showing me how to borrow feelings," Mia says. "Remember, the stories are inside you now. You can always return for more," Mr. Reed replies warmly. Mia smiles, knowing she’ll never look at books—or her own feelings—the same way again.
