Luna squeezed her mother's hand tightly, her curly brown hair bouncing with each nervous step in her colorful summer dress. Her bright blue eyes scanned the colorful playground, unsure of what to make of the bustling scene around her. Sara, her mom, crouched down to her level, her warm smile and soothing voice comforting her.
"It's okay, sweetheart. You'll make lots of new friends today."
Marco knelt beside Luna, pointing to the toys neatly arranged on shelves.
"See, there are so many games to play here. You'll have fun!"
Luna glanced at the blocks and dolls, her curiosity piqued but still hesitant. Her dad gave her a gentle nudge, his eyes full of encouragement.
"Hello, Luna! I'm Miss Anna, your teacher," she greeted warmly. Luna looked up, managing a small smile as Miss Anna took her hand.
"Let's find you a spot to sit and meet some new friends," she suggested, guiding her to a group of children gathered around a table.
Luna hesitated at first, but slowly joined in as the others started a game of musical chairs. Miss Anna clapped her hands to the rhythm, encouraging everyone to participate.
"This is fun!"
giggled a little boy named Tommy, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Luna found herself smiling, her initial fears melting away.
With a brush in hand, Luna dipped it into vibrant red paint, creating bold strokes on the paper.
"You're an artist, Luna!"
Miss Anna admired, and Luna beamed with pride. Around her, other children painted, each creating their own masterpiece.
Luna sat with Tommy and a few others, sharing stories and giggles.
"I can't wait to come back tomorrow,"
she whispered to Sara and Marco, who had come to pick her up.
"We knew you'd love it,"
Sara smiled, giving her a warm hug.
