Lily sat quietly at her desk, watching her classmates laugh and play around her. "I wish I could join them," she thought to herself, feeling the weight of loneliness in her small heart.
Lily spotted Max, his face lit up with excitement as he shared dinosaur facts with a group of boys. Nearby, Emma sat with her sketchbook, capturing the scene with skillful strokes. "Maybe one day, they'll notice me," she murmured.
As Lily wandered near the edge of the playground, she noticed a small, furry puppy tangled in the bushes. "Oh no, you look lost," she said, carefully freeing the little creature.
Max approached, his eyes wide with wonder. "Wow, a puppy! Where did you find him?" he asked, kneeling beside her.
"He was stuck in the bushes," Lily replied, smiling for the first time that day.
Emma joined them, her sketchbook forgotten. "He's adorable! Do you have a name for him?" she asked.
"Not yet. Do you want to help me pick one?" Lily replied, her eyes shining with newfound confidence.
Lily felt a warmth in her chest, surrounded by her new friends. "Thank you, little puppy," she whispered, knowing she had found her place.
