Midnight, a sleek black crow with eyes sharp as obsidian, hops from branch to branch, her feathers glinting in the morning light. She pauses, scanning the forest floor for anything that sparkles or gleams. The woods are alive with the soft rustle of animals and the gentle hum of insects.
Luna, known for her calming presence, sings a gentle tune that seems to quiet even the most restless creatures. Midnight lands nearby, her curiosity piqued by the dove’s melody. "Your song is lovely, Luna. How do you make it sound so peaceful?" "It comes from the heart, Midnight. Every note is a wish for harmony in the forest," replies Luna, her voice soft and reassuring.
Wahya, her coat as pale as moonlight and her gaze deep with longing, steps forward hesitantly. The birds freeze, anxiety fluttering in their chests. "I mean you no harm," Wahya says, her voice tinged with sadness. "Why do you look so forlorn, Wahya?" The wolf lowers her head. "I have lost my pack. I wander these woods alone now, searching for a place to belong."
"None of us should be alone," Luna coos gently. "We can be your friends, Wahya. There’s much we can share and learn together," offers Midnight, her wings fluttering with excitement. "I would like that very much," murmurs Wahya, hope flickering in her eyes as the tension melts into an unexpected warmth.
Midnight teaches Wahya how to spot hidden treasures among the leaves, while Luna soothes their spirits with songs that float like a gentle breeze. In turn, Wahya leads them down winding, secret trails, sharing her knowledge of scents and sounds that only a wolf can sense. "Let me show you the stream where fireflies dance at dusk," she enthuses, tail wagging with newfound joy.
"I never imagined I’d find such close friends in such unexpected places," Luna says, her voice soft as the evening air. "We’re stronger because we’re different. Together there’s nothing we can’t face," adds Midnight, her eyes bright with pride. "You are my family now. I am no longer alone," whispers Wahya as the three nestle close, their hearts beating in quiet harmony beneath the watchful stars.
