Lina the squirrel sat by her tiny window, clutching the picture of herself and Sammy the panda, her bushy tail flicking in thought. The soft chirr of crickets filled the air, but the warmth of friendship seemed far away. "I miss Sammy so much. It's been ages since we played together," she murmured, her eyes glistening with hope.
Lina scribbled her invitation, pouring all her excitement for a weekend party into each word. She folded the note carefully, slipping it into a leaf-lined envelope. "I hope Sammy will come. This party won’t be the same without him," she whispered, tiptoeing outside to place the letter in the mailbox.
Wirby the bird, the forest postman, hopped onto the mailbox and retrieved Lina’s letter with a cheerful trill. He stretched his wings, ready for a long journey. "Off to the bamboo forest! Sammy will be so excited to hear from Lina," Wirby chirped, soaring above rolling hills, winding rivers, and vast seas, the envelope clutched in his beak.
Wirby’s flight took him over sparkling lakes and through misty mountain passes. The world below blurred into a patchwork of color and life, each mile bringing him closer to his destination. The bamboo forest finally appeared, its tall stalks swaying gently, and a familiar shape lumbered among them.
Sammy blinked in surprise as Wirby handed him the envelope, his paws trembling with excitement. "A letter from Lina? Oh, how wonderful! I’ve missed her too," Sammy exclaimed, his heart swelling with happiness as he read Lina’s invitation.
Lina arranged acorn cakes and berry drinks on her table, humming a joyful tune. She glanced out the window, imagining Sammy’s arrival and the laughter they’d share. The promise of reunion filled the air, and the forest seemed to sparkle with anticipation.
