Max watched in amazement as a moving truck parked next door. Boxes were being unloaded, but what caught Max's eye was a large, scaly tail disappearing inside the house. "Could that be a dragon?" he wondered aloud, excitement bubbling in his chest.
Max crept out of his house, clutching a flashlight. His heart pounded in his ears as he tiptoed to the neighbor's window. There, he saw Fizzle, a gentle dragon with iridescent scales, trying to figure out how to use a toaster. "Hello, I'm Max," he whispered, "Do you need some help?"
Fizzle, now comfortable with Max's friendship, was learning to eat peanut butter sandwiches. "These are sticky but delightful!" chuckled Fizzle, his voice a deep rumble. "You'll love ice cream even more!" promised Max, planning their next adventure.
Max and Fizzle joined in, with Fizzle cleverly hiding behind trees and blending in with the foliage. "This is fun!" he exclaimed, his laughter echoing. But when Fizzle's tail accidentally knocked over a trash can, they both froze, eyes wide.
"We have to be more careful," Max advised, glancing around to make sure no one had seen the mishap. "I'll try to be more cautious," promised Fizzle, his eyes twinkling with gratitude. Max nodded, feeling the weight of their secret but also the joy of their unique friendship.
Fizzle and Max celebrated their friendship with a small feast. "To new beginnings and keeping secrets," toasted Fizzle, raising a glass of lemonade. "And to learning more human things together," added Max with a grin. They laughed under the stars, knowing their adventures had only just begun.
