Lila paused, sensing movement, and leaned forward to peer under the bed. The creature’s round eyes shimmered with curiosity, its fur like spun sugar. "Hello? Are you lost?" she whispered, hardly daring to move as the creature crept closer, trembling yet drawn to her gentle voice.
Lila giggles as the creature sniffs a daisy and sneezes, sending petals flying. She offers it a cookie, and it nibbles with delight. "I think I’ll call you Fuzzball," she beams, stroking its soft fur, feeling a bond forming as they play and laugh together.
"Don’t worry, Fuzzball. I’ll take care of you," Lila promises, tracing gentle circles on its back. The creature responds with a happy chirp, curling up against her. Their laughter and warmth fill the room, and their hearts grow inseparable.
Ms. Willow, the stranger, explains that the creature belongs to a magical forest and must return. "I’m sorry, but Fuzzball has a home to go back to," she says, her voice gentle but firm. Tears well in Lila’s eyes as she clings to her friend, unwilling to say goodbye.
"I wish you were here," Lila murmurs into the quiet night. Fuzzball whimpers softly, remembering the games and gentle words. Their hearts ache with loneliness, dreaming of reunion.
"You came back!" Lila cries joyfully, hugging Fuzzball tight. Ms. Willow watches from afar, smiling at their happiness. "You belong together," she says, granting them permission to stay as a family.
"We’ll never be apart again," Lila whispers, and Fuzzball chirps in agreement, their hearts forever entwined.
