Milo the Mouse scampered along the winding garden path, his tiny whiskers twitching with excitement. He loved this garden, especially when the sunlight made every flower sparkle. Today, though, his heart felt heavy, and he paused by a patch of bluebells, sighing quietly.
Pip the Squirrel, Milo’s best friend, darted back and forth, gathering scattered berries with trembling paws. Milo watched, remembering how he had bumped into the basket by accident earlier that morning.
"I’m so sorry, Pip. I didn’t mean to knock over your berries."
"You ruined my whole picnic! Now I have nothing to share," cried Pip, her tail drooping as she tried to save what she could.

Milo felt tears prick his eyes. He hadn’t wanted to ruin anything, but now Pip was upset, and the garden didn’t seem as bright. He sat down beside a daisy and whispered to himself, "I wish I could fix things with Pip."

Milo remembered how much fun he and Pip had always had together—climbing trees, sharing snacks, and laughing in the sun. Maybe, he thought, friends sometimes make mistakes, but they can also make things right. He gathered a handful of wild strawberries and set off in search of Pip.

"Pip, I’m really sorry. I brought these strawberries to share with you. I hope we can still be friends," said Milo, holding out the bright red berries.
"I was upset, but I know you didn’t mean to do it. I forgive you, Milo," replied Pip, her eyes twinkling. She took a berry and smiled, and together they began to laugh again.

"Forgiving each other makes our friendship even stronger," said Milo.
"And now our picnic is even sweeter," giggled Pip. The garden seemed to bloom even brighter, as if it too was celebrating the magic of forgiveness.
