Geo Umizoomi shuffles nervously through the alley, his eyes darting from side to side. Suddenly, a translucent figure appears, floating above the ground, its pale face contorted in a ghostly grin.
"Aaaah! A ghost!" Heart pounding, Geo Umizoomi bolts, his small feet barely touching the ground as he flees.
Geo Umizoomi glances over his shoulder every few seconds, certain the ghost is still chasing him. He finally slows near a corner store, pressing himself against the wall, eyes wide.
"I’ve got to find someone... anyone!" he mutters, his voice trembling.
Milli[/@ch_2], stands behind the counter, sorting candy jars.]
Geo Umizoomi bursts in, sweat beading on his brow. He stammers out his story, eyes widening with every word.
"Milli, I just saw a ghost in the alley! It was floating and staring at me and—I thought it was going to get me!"
"A ghost? Are you sure it wasn’t just someone playing a trick?" asks Milli, concern and curiosity mixing in her tone.
Geo Umizoomi[/@ch_1] and Milli creep cautiously, flashlight beams cutting through the gloom. Shadows dance along the walls, and every sound seems magnified.]
Milli scans the area, searching for clues. They spot a white sheet snagged on a fence, fluttering in the breeze, and a pair of sneakers peeking out from behind a stack of boxes.
"Look, Geo! There’s someone hiding over there," whispers Milli, pointing.
Bot[/@ch_3], their friend, giggling behind the boxes. He’s wearing a homemade ghost costume—white sheet, glow-in-the-dark paint, and a silly hat. The alley feels lighter now, laughter echoing off the walls.]
Bot steps out, unable to contain his amusement. He lifts the sheet, grinning sheepishly.
"Sorry, Geo! I just wanted to surprise you. I didn’t mean to scare you so much!"
Geo Umizoomi exhales in relief, his fear replaced with laughter.
"Next time, let’s stick to less scary surprises," says Geo Umizoomi with a smile.
"Agreed, but you have to admit—it was a pretty clever costume!" laughs Milli.
"Only if you promise not to run for your life!" jokes Bot, and together, they walk home, their laughter drifting into the night.
