Geo Umizoomi and Little Bill are playing near the slide, their laughter echoing in the night air.
Suddenly, a pale, floating figure emerges from behind the jungle gym, its form flickering in and out of the mist.
"Did you see that, Little Bill?!"
"It looks like... a ghost!"
Geo Umizoomi's eyes grow wide with fear, and Little Bill grabs his hand tightly.
Without a second thought, both of them turn and bolt across the playground, their shoes pounding on the sand, screams echoing behind them.
"Run, Geo, run! The ghost is chasing us!"
"Don't look back, Little Bill!"
Grandma Alice, a kindly neighbor known for her wisdom and warm cocoa, opens her door as the boys arrive.
"Grandma Alice, we saw a ghost in the playground!"
"It was floating and making scary noises!"
"Let’s see what’s going on, boys. Sometimes things aren’t what they seem."
The flashlight beam cuts through the dark, revealing the playground’s empty stillness, but soon catches a flicker of movement behind the slide.
Geo Umizoomi and Little Bill huddle close, hearts pounding as the “ghost” comes into view.
Sally[/@ch_4], Little Bill’s older sister, draped in a white bedsheet and giggling.]
Sally is creative and mischievous, always looking for a laugh.
"Boo! You two sure can run fast! I just wanted to play a trick on you."
"Sally! That was you the whole time? We really thought you were a ghost!"
"You scared us out of our shoes!"
"See? Not all ghosts are real—sometimes, it’s just a sister with a sheet."
"Next time, warn us before you play a trick, okay?"
"Deal! But you have to admit, it was pretty funny!"
The night ends with smiles, stories, and a promise to stick together no matter how spooky things seem.
