Little Bill sits up in bed, his heart pounding as he stares at the ghostly figure. The chill in the air and the shifting shadows make his imagination run wild. He clutches his blanket tightly, his eyes wide with fear.
"Wh-who’s there?!" he whispers, but the specter only seems to drift closer, its form wavering in the dim light. Unable to contain his terror, Little Bill leaps from his bed and rushes out of the room, his footsteps echoing down the hallway.
Little Bill bursts into the living room, his mind racing with fear. He tries to catch his breath, glancing nervously over his shoulder. The ghostly image from his room is burned into his memory.
"I have to tell someone… Maybe Geo Umizoomi will know what to do!" he mutters, determination flickering in his eyes despite his trembling hands.
Geo, from Team Umizoomi, appears on the screen with a reassuring smile. The room feels a little less scary with Geo’s friendly face beaming at him.
"Geo, I saw a ghost in my room! It was floating by my closet and it almost got me!"
"Don’t worry, Little Bill! We’re here to help you solve the mystery. Let’s use our mighty math powers to figure out what’s really going on," Geo replies, his voice filled with confidence.
Geo examines the “ghost” carefully, pointing out the way the light from the window catches the edge of a white sheet hanging off the closet door. He encourages Little Bill to look closely at the shapes and shadows.
"Look, Little Bill! The ghost isn’t floating at all—it’s just a sheet on your closet door, moving in the breeze from your open window," Geo explains gently.
"I can’t believe it! It was just a sheet the whole time?" Little Bill asks, relief flooding his voice.
Geo gives Little Bill a proud thumbs up, and Little Bill grins, his fear replaced by pride in solving the mystery.
"See? Sometimes our minds play tricks on us when things look spooky at night. But with a little help and some courage, we can always find the truth,"
"Thanks, Geo! You’re the best. Next time I see something scary, I’ll remember to look closely before I run away,"
Little Bill hums a happy tune as he tidies up, grateful for his new friend and the lesson he’s learned. The world outside sparkles with new possibilities, and adventure feels just around the corner.
"I’m not afraid of ghosts anymore—especially not ones made of sheets," he laughs, ready to face whatever the day brings.
