Dora, the brave explorer with her signature pink shirt and backpack, swings high with Diego, the animal rescuer in his orange vest, both giggling as they spot Swiper, the sneaky fox with his mask and striped tail, hiding behind a bush pretending not to swipe anything.
The Backyardigans—[@ch_4_1]Pablo[/@ch_4_1] the penguin, [@ch_4_2]Uniqua[/@ch_4_2] the pink spotted creature, [@ch_4_3]Tyrone[/@ch_4_3] the moose, and [@ch_4_4]Tasha[/@ch_4_4] the hippo—dance in a circle, their backyard transformed into an imaginary adventure land with chalk-drawn paths and pretend mountains.
"¡Vamos, everyone! This is the best playtime ever—look at all these fun slides and swings lighting up in the sunset! Who's ready for more adventures before the stars come out?"
"Yeah, Dora! Rescuing animals and exploring with friends like this makes every day super exciting—let's keep the fun going all night if we can!"
Suddenly, a translucent ghostly figure materializes near the sandbox, its glowing white form billowing like smoke with hollow eyes and tattered edges fluttering in the unnatural breeze, sending a wave of icy fear through the air.
Dora freezes mid-laugh, her eyes widening in terror as the ghost lets out a hollow moan that echoes off the playground equipment.
Swiper drops his pretend swiping bag, his fur standing on end.
"¡Ay, no! It's a ghost! Everyone, did you see that scary floating thing with the glowing eyes—it's coming right towards us with that horrible moaning sound that makes my heart pound like crazy!"
"Run for your lives! The ghost is real and it's chasing us—oh man, my legs are shaking, I can feel the cold air from it already, we have to get away before it catches us!"
[@ch_4_1_d]"Ahh! This isn't our backyard adventure anymore—it's a nightmare! The ghost's shadow is everywhere, and it's so white and spooky, I'm crying and screaming as loud as I can!"[/@ch_4_1_d]
[@ch_4_2]Uniqua[/@ch_4_2] clutches [@ch_4_3]Tyrone[/@ch_4_3], while [@ch_4_4]Tasha[/@ch_4_4] buries her face in her hands, the group forming a tight, quivering ball on the cold ground littered with fallen leaves.
Swiper peeks out briefly, then ducks back with a yelp.
"We're trapped in this corner, but the ghost might find us—it's all white and floaty, moaning like it's from another world, and I swear it's getting closer with every scary second that passes!"
[@ch_4_4_d]"I can't stop crying; my eyes hurt from tears, and my whole body is shaking—please make it go away, this is the scariest thing that's ever happened in our backyardigans world!"[/@ch_4_4_d]
"We ran as fast as we could, screaming the whole way, but now we're stuck here huddling and sobbing—Dora's so brave usually, but this ghost has us all terrified out of our minds!"
The lion pauses near the swings, sniffing the air curiously, its muscular form casting a long shadow that momentarily blocks the ghost's eerie light.
Diego spots it first from the corner, gasping.
"A lion! Now there's a huge lion with sharp teeth and a big mane walking right into our playground—after the ghost, this is too much, we're doomed!"
[@ch_4_3_d]"Oh no, first the ghost, now a roaring lion—it's so big and strong-looking, with claws that could scare anything away, but what if it roars at us too while we're already crying in this corner?"[/@ch_4_3_d]
Geo[/@ch_5] from Team Umizoomi arrives on his bouncy UmiCar, its headlights piercing the fog like tiny stars, parking near the lion with gadgets glowing in red, blue, and green patterns against the night's velvet darkness.]
Geo, with his orange hair, math-patterned shirt, and backpack full of shape-bots, jumps out confidently, his small size contrasting the lion's grandeur.
The lion turns, but Geo stands firm.
"Ahh! A lion? Don't worry, Nick Jr friends—it's okay, I see you're all scared from something terrible, tell me everything that happened with that ghost and this big cat while I figure out the Umi-alarm to help!"
"Geo, thank goodness you're here—first a scary ghost appeared all glowing and moaning, chasing us till we ran screaming and crying into this corner, then this lion showed up making us even more terrified!"
"Yeah, Geo, the ghost was the worst—white and floaty with eyes like black holes, we were so panicked we tripped over toys running here, please use your math powers to save us from it and the lion!"
Geo[/@ch_5] activates his UmiZoom, holographic numbers and shapes dance in the air, illuminating the ghost which now wavers closer, the lion watching intently from the grass under a canopy of stars breaking through the thinning fog.]
Geo scans with his tools, patterns aligning to reveal a hidden projector behind a bush, controlled by mischievous shadows.
It turns out the "ghost" was a holographic prank from the Bubble Guppies—[@ch_6_1]Gil[/@ch_6_1] the energetic fish and [@ch_6_2]Molly[/@ch_6_2] the smart guppy—hiding with a costume sheet, while the lion is just a friendly plush come to life in the adventure.
"UmiZoom! I see it now—friends, it wasn't a real ghost or scary lion at all; it was [@ch_6_1]Gil[/@ch_6_1] and [@ch_6_2]Molly[/@ch_6_2] from the Bubble Guppies playing a super sneaky Halloween prank with their glowy projector and a big fluffy lion costume to surprise us all along!"
[@ch_6_1_d]"Hee hee, gotcha! We thought it'd be fun to make a spooky ghost hologram and lion roar to kick off a big Nick Jr party—sorry if we scared you too much, we just wanted everyone to scream and laugh together!"[/@ch_6_1_d]
[@ch_6_2_d]"Yeah, the ghost was our light show machine hidden in the bush, moaning with wind effects, and the lion was me in a cozy costume—let's all hug it out and turn this fright into the best dance party ever under the stars!"[/@ch_6_2_d]
"¡Qué alivio! No more tears—we're safe, and now it's time to celebrate with Geo's math magic and everyone's favorite games, turning our scary night into pure joy!"
