Omar, a bright-eyed Emirati boy of eight, sits cross-legged on a colorful rug, playing with a shiny new set of marbles. The marbles glint with swirls of blue and green, their glassy surfaces catching the sunlight. His younger sister, Sara, watches from the doorway, her hands clasped hopefully behind her back.
"Omar, can I play with your marbles too?"
Omar hesitates, glancing at his sister. He clutches his favorite blue marble tightly, his brow furrowed with indecision.
"I just got them today, Sara. What if you lose them?"
"I promise I'll be careful, Omar. I just want to play with you."
Omar turns away, his shoulders tense, ignoring the disappointment in Sara's voice.
Omar watches her, guilt tugging at his heart. He remembers how they used to laugh together, inventing stories for their toys.
"Sara, do you want to play marbles with me? I’ll teach you my favorite game,"
"Really? You mean it?"
Omar nods, a shy smile on his lips as Sara's face lights up with joy.
"This is so much fun, Omar! Look, I almost got the blue one!"
"You’re getting really good at it, Sara. Maybe you’ll beat me next time,"
As the stars twinkle above, Omar realizes that sharing brings more happiness than keeping things to himself. Together, they create a memory as precious as the marbles themselves.
