Mira, a small girl with sparkling eyes and unruly hair, hugs her knees to her chest on her soft bed. She sighs, watching a neighbor's puppy tumble in the grass below, her heart brimming with longing. "If only I could have a puppy of my own, I’d take care of it and we’d go on so many adventures," she whispers, tracing the outline of a puppy sketch on her wall.
Mira’s Mother, gentle but firm, shakes her head slowly. "We know you want a puppy, Mira, but they need a lot of care and we’re not ready," she explains, reaching for Mira's hand. Mira lowers her eyes, swirling peas around her plate, her dreams feeling farther away than ever.
Mira slips outside, her heart heavy. She wanders beneath the tree, her hands brushing the cool, fragrant grass. Suddenly, from behind a bush, she hears a soft whimper—a sound both timid and hopeful.
Luna, the magical puppy, wags her tail and pads toward Mira. The world seems to pause as Mira kneels down, her breath caught in her throat. "Hello there… Where did you come from?" she whispers, as the puppy licks her hand, a tingling warmth spreading up her arm.
Luna nudges one of the dream-bubbles with her nose, and it bursts in a shower of sparkles. Suddenly, Mira finds herself surrounded by scenes from her deepest wishes: painting in an art gallery, flying through the clouds, building castles on the beach. "With me, your dreams can come true, Mira," Luna whispers, her voice as soft as wind chimes.
Mira’s Mother kneels beside them, curiosity overcoming her worry. "Where did you find this little one, Mira?" Mira’s eyes shine with hope and wonder as she hugs Luna close. "She found me, Mama… and she’s the best dream I’ve ever had," she replies, knowing her life will never be the same.
