Sam sat on his bed, staring at the pair of glasses in his hands. The frames were simple, with round lenses that seemed to magnify his worries. He muttered to himself while imagining the laughter and teasing from his classmates. Sally, his younger sister, burst into the room with a wide smile. "Good morning, Sam! Are you ready for your first day as a superhero?" she teased, plopping down beside him. "Superhero?" Sam asked, confused.
"Of course!" Sally replied, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Think of all the cool heroes who wear glasses, like Clark Kent! Those glasses are your secret identity!" She picked up one of Sam's favorite superhero comics, flipping through the pages.
"But what if they laugh at me?" Sam asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Trust me, they'll think you look awesome," Sally assured him, giving his shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
Sam sat at the breakfast table, the glasses still in his pocket. Sally watched him from across the table, her expression a mixture of encouragement and anticipation. "So, have you decided?" she asked, passing him the syrup. "I guess I could try," Sam said hesistantly, pulling out the glasses. "That's the spirit!" Sally cheered, her face lighting up with pride.
Sam walked through the gate, his heart pounding in his chest. He felt every eye on him, each step heavier than the last. As he reached the playground, he took a deep breath and put on his glasses. His friends were gathered around the jungle gym, engaged in a noisy chatter. Sam approached them cautiously, bracing himself for their reactions.
Sam's friends turned to him, momentarily struck silent. Then, one of them, Jake, a boy with a shock of red hair, exclaimed, "Whoa, Sam! You look super cool with those glasses!" Lucy, a little girl with pigtails, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, like a superhero or something!" Sam felt a wave of relief wash over him, his fears melting away. "Really? You guys think so?" he asked, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
Sam joined his classmates, a newfound confidence in his step. He adjusted his glasses, feeling a little taller, a little braver. "Thanks, Sally," he whispered to himself, knowing his sister's encouragement had made all the difference.
And with that, Sam embraced his day, ready to face whatever adventures awaited him, all thanks to a simple pair of glasses and a sister who believed in him.
