Maddox held the flashlight steady, his eyes wide with excitement as Maverick and Myles pushed aside a creaky old trunk. "Look what I found!" exclaimed Maverick, pulling out a dusty, leather-bound book. Its cover was emblazoned with a peculiar emblem: three goblins bouncing on beds.
"Do you think it’s a spellbook?" questioned Myles, his voice a mix of skepticism and wonder.
"Only one way to find out!" Maddox replied, flipping open the pages to reveal a hidden compartment beneath. Inside, a shimmering key glinted in the flashlight's glow.
Maddox inserted the key into the floor, and with a click, the board slid aside to reveal a swirling portal. Colors swirled like a whirlpool, and the boys exchanged excited glances.
"Are we really doing this?" Maverick asked, his heart pounding with both fear and thrill.
"Adventure awaits!" Myles shouted, leaping into the portal with a gleeful cheer.
The boys landed softly on a springy bed, their laughter echoing through the sky. Around them, goblins with mischievous grins bounced from bed to bed in an endless game of tag.
"This is amazing!" Maddox exclaimed, bouncing higher with each jump.
"I’ve never seen anything like it!" Maverick added, attempting a daring flip mid-air.
Myles noticed the beds starting to lose their stability, the clouds beneath them churning with growing intensity. "Uh-oh, I think we might have overdone it!" he warned, trying to regain his balance.
A particularly mischievous goblin, with a twinkle in its eye, pulled a prank that sent beds crashing into one another, creating a domino effect of bouncing chaos.
Maddox called out, "Let's jump in harmony! Follow my lead!" as he began a steady, calming bounce.
Maverick and Myles mirrored him, and soon the goblins followed suit, their laughter returning as the beds settled back into gentle sways.
As the portal closed behind them, Maverick held the book tightly, a memento of their wild adventure. "We’ll have to visit again sometime," Myles suggested, a grin spreading across his face.
Maddox agreed, "Definitely, but maybe we should practice our jumping skills first!" They laughed, their hearts still racing from the goblin-filled escapade, knowing that their attic held many more secrets yet to be found.
