Maya[/@ch_1] and Eli, sit cross-legged on the soft carpet, flipping through a big animal encyclopedia.]
"Did you know cows have best friends and get sad if they're apart?"
"Really? I thought only people did that. I wonder what else animals do that we don't know about," Eli replied, eyes shining with curiosity.
Maya[/@ch_1] and Eli step outside into their sunlit backyard, bordered by swaying trees and wildflowers. A gentle breeze carries birdsong, and the family’s dog, Biscuit, bounds over, tail wagging.]
"Let’s pretend we’re on a safari and see how many animals we can find or imagine!"
"We can draw their tracks in the dirt and guess who they belong to,"
Biscuit barks in agreement, darting after a butterfly.
"Look, it's Whiskers, the mighty jungle cat! I read cats can jump up to six times their length,"
"And they use their tails for balance, like tightrope walkers,"
A bird flutters down, pecking at seeds, and the children watch in awe.
"Imagine if all these animals lived together. Would the bear and the pig be friends?"
"Maybe, as long as the bear doesn't get too hungry!"
Eli sketches a tiger in the dirt, while Maya draws a long-necked giraffe.
"Birds like hawks have amazing eyesight. They can spot a mouse from far away,"
"And bears can smell food from miles off. Animals are incredible,"
They smile, realizing how much they’ve learned simply by watching and pretending.
Biscuit[/@ch_3] lies in the shade, content, while Whiskers purrs softly nearby.]
"I wish we could go on a real safari one day. But for now, I love our backyard zoo,"
"Me too. There’s so much to discover, even at home,"
The last rays of sun paint golden stripes across the grass, and the children’s laughter mingles with the sounds of their wild, wonderful world.
