Ms. Plummer clapped her hands to gather everyone's attention. "Alright, class, who’s ready for a special Christmas adventure?" she announced with a twinkle in her eye.
Abigail, Ambrose, Anna, and the rest of the third graders cheered in excitement. [@ch_6]Carla[/@ch_6_d]"What kind of adventure, Ms. Plummer?"[/@ch_6_d] asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"We have a mission to rescue a giant inflatable Santa that got stuck in the big oak tree by the playground," explained Ms. Plummer.
Coop-a-loop held up a particularly large candy cane like a sword. "This will do the trick!" he declared.
Hudson[/@ch_11_d]"And we can use these ropes to pull him down gently,"[/@ch_11_d] suggested [@ch_11]Hudson, pointing at some tinsel they had unraveled from the Christmas tree.
Jayden[/@ch_13_d]"I’ll bring my walkie-talkies so we can communicate,"[/@ch_13_d] added [@ch_13]Jayden, waving the devices enthusiastically.
Clara looked up, squinting against the falling snowflakes. "We need a plan," she said.
Aspen nodded, her cheeks rosy from the cold. "Let's build a human ladder. We can use the candy canes as support!"
Sawyer and Bailey volunteered to be at the bottom, anchoring the ladder with their sturdy frames.
Raekwon was at the top, balancing carefully. "I got him!" he called down, reaching for the Santa.
Braxton[/@ch_5_d]"Careful, don't let him pop!"[/@ch_5_d] yelled [@ch_5]Braxton, concern etched on his face.
