Milo hopped excitedly from branch to branch, his eyes fixed on the ripe mangoes. Luna, with her sleek fur and curious eyes, watched him from below. Zara, the wisest of the three, sat quietly, her gaze thoughtful.
"Look at all these mangoes! They're ours for the taking," exclaimed Milo eagerly.
"We should take as many as we can," suggested Luna, a hint of greed in her voice.
Zara hesitated as she watched her friends, a frown creasing her brow. "Shouldn't we leave some for others? What if we take too much?"
"Nonsense, Zara! There's plenty to go around," retorted Milo, stuffing his cheeks full of mangoes.
"Don't be silly, Zara. More for us means less for them," laughed Luna.
Zara sat apart from the others, her eyes fixed on the dwindling supply of mangoes. A sense of unease settled over her as she noticed the disappointed faces of other animals who arrived too late.
"We've been selfish," she whispered to herself, her heart heavy with guilt.
Zara finally spoke, "We took more than we needed and left others with nothing. It's not right."
Milo and Luna exchanged glances, their earlier bravado replaced by shame. "You're right, Zara. We got carried away," admitted Luna.
"What should we do?" asked Milo, looking at Zara for guidance.
Zara smiled as she watched her friends, grateful for their change of heart. "It's never too late to do the right thing," she said softly.
Milo and Luna nodded, their hearts lighter as they gave back to the forest that had given them so much.
