In the heart of the lush forest, there lived a squirrel named Nutty. With bright eyes and a bushy tail, Nutty was known for his insatiable love for acorns. Every morning, he would scamper through the trees, collecting acorns to store for the winter. But unlike the other squirrels, Nutty always wanted more than he needed.
One day, Nutty spotted a massive oak tree laden with acorns. His eyes gleamed with greed. "If I gather all these acorns, I'll have more than anyone else," he thought to himself. Ignoring the other animals who also needed to gather food, Nutty began collecting as many acorns as he could carry, not caring if he left any for others.
As Nutty continued to hoard, he noticed the sky darkening. "I'll just get a few more," he muttered, ignoring the scurrying of other animals heading to their nests. But soon, a strong gust of wind shook the trees, and rain began to pour down heavily. Caught in the storm, Nutty struggled to carry his burden of acorns back to his nest.
Nutty slipped and fell, watching helplessly as his precious acorns scattered and floated away with the rainwater. He sat drenched and shivering, realizing his greed had left him with nothing. "If only I had taken just what I needed, I wouldn't be in this mess," he lamented.
After the storm, Nutty decided to mend his ways. He apologized to the other animals and promised to share the acorns he would gather. "From now on, I'll take only what I need and leave the rest for everyone else," he promised. The other animals forgave him and helped Nutty gather acorns for winter.
Nutty learned that greed had almost cost him everything. With a lighter heart and a full stomach, he realized that sharing brought more joy than hoarding ever could. As he scampered through the trees, he knew that from then on, his heart would be as full as his acorn stash.
