Dylan stretched and yawned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he glanced over at Noah. The morning light danced across their room, filled with posters of superheroes and spaceships. "What should we do for Elijah's surprise?" Noah, still half-asleep, pondered the question with a thoughtful hum.
"Let's ask the Father in Heaven to make it rain gumdrops," Noah suggested, his eyes lighting up with excitement. Dylan chuckled, imagining the delight on Elijah's face. "That would be amazing! Let's do it after breakfast," he agreed, his mind already swirling with the possibility of such a magical event.
Kneeling at the pews, Dylan and Noah clasped their hands in prayer. The soft murmur of the congregation filled the church as sunlight poured through the stained glass, painting the floor in vibrant hues. "Dear Heavenly Father, please make it rain gumdrops for Elijah," they whispered together, their voices earnest and hopeful.
As the service concluded, the brothers stepped outside, greeted by a sky dotted with fluffy clouds. Suddenly, a gasp rippled through the crowd. Elijah, cradled in their mother's arms, pointed upwards with wide eyes. From the heavens, multicolored gumdrops began to fall gently, bouncing playfully on the cobblestones. "It really happened!" Noah exclaimed, his voice brimming with joy.
The town quickly turned into a scene of cheerful chaos as children rushed to gather the sweet treats. Dylan and Noah laughed as they joined the other kids, filling their pockets with gumdrops. "Elijah will love this," Dylan said, watching their baby brother giggle at the colorful spectacle.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, the brothers sat together, sticky with sugar and happiness. Noah leaned back against a tree, a satisfied smile on his face. "This was the best surprise ever," he said, glancing at Dylan. "Yeah, it was perfect," Dylan replied, watching Elijah play in the fading light, his laughter echoing into the magical evening.
