Dora, the brave young explorer with her signature pink shirt and backpack, leads the way with her trusty monkey companion Boots, his red boots crunching softly on the path.
"¡Vamos, Boots! We're almost at the pumpkin patch for Halloween fun. What adventure do you think we'll find tonight?"
"I don't know, Dora, but everything looks spooky with all these shadows. Hey, what's that glowing over there by the big rock?"
Dora freezes, her eyes widening in terror as the figure lets out a low, echoing moan that vibrates through the trees.
Boots clings to Dora's leg, his fur standing on end.
"Dora! It's a ghost! Just like the one Franklin saw—big, scary, floating right at us! We gotta run, run for our lives before it gets us!"
"¡Ay, caramba! You're right, Boots—it's coming closer! ¡Corre, corre! Let's get out of here and find help!"
Dora and Boots burst into the den, panting and wide-eyed, collapsing near the hearth where soft furs and storybooks are scattered.
Little Bear, the thoughtful cub with fluffy brown fur and a gentle demeanor, looks up from his honeycomb snack.
"Little Bear, we saw a ghost! It was huge and glowing, just like in Franklin the Turtle's Halloween story—it moaned and floated right towards us in the jungle!"
"Yeah, it had a scary shell and eyes like black holes! We ran so fast, but what if it's following us? Please, you have to believe us!"
"A ghost? Oh my, that sounds truly frightening. Don't worry, friends—I'll tell my good pal Little Bill right away. He'll know what to do; he's so wise about these mysterious things. Stay here and catch your breath while I go fetch him."
Little Bear arrives at the porch, explaining the tale to Little Bill, the curious toddler in blue overalls with a bright smile and endless questions.
"Little Bill, Dora and Boots are terrified—they saw a ghost in the forest, exactly like the one from Franklin's Halloween adventure. It was glowing and moaning, chasing them! We need your help to figure this out and make them safe."
"Whoa, a real ghost? That sounds super spooky, but I've heard stories like that before. Maybe it's not what they think—let's go check it out together. I'll bring my flashlight and thinking cap; we can investigate step by step and solve this mystery!"
"Perfect! Your bravery always shines, Little Bill. Dora and Boots will feel so much better with us all teaming up like this."
Dora, Boots, Little Bear, and Little Bill creep forward cautiously, hearts pounding.
"Okay, team, stay close. See that glow? It's flickering funny—not like a real ghost. Let's shine our lights and say '¡Swiper no swiping!' just in case it's a trick."
"You're right, Little Bill—it's moving, but look at the wires and the sheet! Oh no, is that...?"
Benny the Bull, the mischievous friend with rosy cheeks and a floppy hat, pops out laughing, unharmed props clattering to the ground.
"Surprise! It was just me, trying to make the best Halloween scare ever, like Franklin's story. I didn't mean to frighten you so much—sorry, friends! The glow was from my lantern, and the moans from this little recorder. Want some candy corn to make up for it?"
"Benny! We were so scared, but now it's funny. Thanks to Little Bear and Little Bill for helping us discover it was you all along—no more ghosts tonight!"
"Yeah! Group hug—Halloween adventure solved, and now we can all celebrate with tricks and treats together!"
