Dora, the brave young explorer with her bright red shirt and backpack, leads the way with her monkey friend Boots, who bounces excitedly in his purple boots.
The two friends giggle nervously as they push open the groaning door, flashlights cutting through the dusty gloom inside, revealing flickering candle stubs and tattered curtains swaying like ghosts.
"This haunted house is super spooky, Boots, but we're gonna explore it together and find all the fun surprises!"
"Yeah, Dora! Let's go see what's making those funny noises – ooh ooh ah ah!"
Suddenly, a translucent ghost with glowing green eyes and rattling chains emerges from the shadows, its wail echoing off the peeling wallpaper.
Dora and Boots freeze, then scream in high-pitched, squeaky voices that sound nothing like their own – Dora's like a chipmunk, Boots' like a squealing toy.
"Eeeeek! A scary ghost! Run, Boots, run for our lives!" she shrieks in the wrong voice.
"Aaaah! It's got us! Help, super fast running away!" he squeals oddly, as they bolt out the door, tripping over vines in panic.
Panting and wide-eyed, Dora and Boots spot Geo, the tiny math hero dressed as Mr. Owl with oversized glasses and a feathery cape, who hoots knowingly.
They rush over, still trembling, and spill the tale of terror from the haunted house.
"Geo Umizoomi as Mr. Owl, we went into the haunted house and a scary ghost with chains chased us! We screamed in the weirdest voices and ran super fast, but it's still there!"
"Yeah, it was so spooky! Ooh ooh, can you help us scare it away, Mr. Owl? Pleeease?"
"Hoo hoo, don't worry, little explorers. Mr. Owl knows just the trick – lions scare ghosts away! We'll use our lion costumes and roar it right out of there with some Umi-sized bravery and math power!"
Geo as Mr. Owl leads the group back, helping Dora and Boots don their lion costumes, complete with golden fur hoods and twitchy tail attachments that swish dramatically.
They practice mighty roars, the costumes making them look fierce and fun, with paw prints marking their path up the porch steps.
"Now, with our lion shapes and Umi-friend shapes, we'll count to three and roar: one big lion, two brave friends, three super scares! Ready to make that ghost flee?"
"Yes! We're lions now – rawr! This ghost won't know what hit it!"
"Rawr rawr! Lions rule the haunted house – let's go get him, team!"
The trio bursts in as lions, roaring thunderously – Dora's roar deep and mighty, Boots' playful yet powerful, and Geo's wise and echoing.
The ghost's eyes bulge, chains clanking wildly as it wails in terror and flees through a wall, vanishing into the misty woods outside.
"Yay! The ghost is gone – we did it with our lion costumes! Lions are the best ghost-scarers ever!"
"Woo-hoo! Rawr victory! We cheered it right out – ooh ooh ah ah in our funny voices!" they cheer squeakily again.
"Hoo hoo, perfect teamwork and shapes! The haunted house is safe now, friends."
Dora bursts in, still in her lion costume, hugging her Mom, a warm woman with an apron dusted in flour.
"Mom, you won't believe it! Boots and I met a scary ghost at the haunted house, screamed in silly voices, and ran! Then Geo Umizoomi as Mr. Owl helped us put on lion costumes – the ghost hated lions and ran away super fast!"
"Oh, Dora, that sounds like the bravest adventure! I'm so proud – cookies for all the lion heroes!"
Dora stands proudly, waving her arms dramatically to her giggling classmates.
"Guys, on our big adventure, Boots and I explored the haunted house but a ghost scared us so much we screamed in wrong voices like chipmunks and ran for our lives! Geo Umizoomi as Mr. Owl saved the day with lion costumes – we roared, the ghost freaked out because ghosts hate lions, and it zoomed away! Then we cheered yay in our funny voices – best day ever!"
The class erupts in cheers, imagining the roars and chases.
