Benny the Dog lay lazily in the shade of an oak tree, his ears perked up at the laughter of children. He loved watching them play, always ready to join in their games or offer a friendly wag of his tail.
Benny sprang into action, his instincts kicking in. "Woof!" He barked loudly, dashing towards the girl, his paws pounding against the pavement.
Benny stood protectively in front of the girl, his eyes watching the car as if daring it to come any closer. The little girl clung to his fur, tears turning to smiles as she realized she was safe.
"Thank you, Benny!" the girl's mother exclaimed, kneeling down to hug him. The father patted Benny's head, grateful for his quick actions.
Benny trotted around proudly, accepting belly rubs and pats on the head. The children laughed and played, occasionally stopping to give Benny a treat or a hug.
Benny lay contentedly under the oak tree once more, his eyes drooping with exhaustion and happiness. "Woof," he murmured softly, knowing he had done a good deed.
