Daisy had been captivated by the butterfly's vibrant colors, unaware she was straying far from her pond. Her webbed feet padded softly across the earth, leaving tiny imprints as she chased after it. "Just a little closer," she quacked, determined to catch up.
Benny, the tortoise, noticed Daisy's frantic chase. "Hello there, little one," he called out in a slow, measured tone, "Are you lost?"
"Oh, I was just following a butterfly," Daisy admitted, panting a little. "But I don't know how to get back home."
"Fear not," Benny reassured her, "I’ve seen many paths, and I can guide you."
In the forest, they met Lila, an adventurous squirrel with a bushy tail and bright, curious eyes. "What brings you both into the woods?" she chattered eagerly.
"I'm trying to find my way back home," Daisy explained, looking hopeful.
"Well, you're in luck! I know these trees like the back of my paw," Lila declared, excited to join their quest.
Daisy hesitated at the edge, unsure of how to cross. "What should we do?" she asked, glancing between her companions.
"We jump!" Lila exclaimed, already leaping from rock to rock with nimble grace.
"Take it slow and steady," Benny advised, moving cautiously across the stones.
With guidance and encouragement, Daisy made it safely to the other side, her heart swelling with newfound courage.
Daisy quacked joyfully, recognizing the comforting sight of her pond. "Thank you both so much," she quacked, her eyes shining with gratitude.
"Remember, little one," Benny said, "It's okay to wander, as long as you find your way back."
"And don't forget, adventures are better with friends," Lila added, winking playfully.
With a sigh of contentment, Daisy closed her eyes, dreaming of butterflies and the friends who helped her find her way back home.
