Mary stormed through the hallway, her face flushed with frustration. She had been searching for her phone all morning and was convinced Sarah had taken it. "I know you have it, Sarah!" Mary accused, her voice rising above the din.
Mary wandered to the soccer field, her mind racing with thoughts. There, glinting in the sun, lay her phone. Relief and embarrassment washed over her as she picked it up. "I can't believe I accused her," she muttered to herself.
Mary approached Sarah hesitantly, holding a banana in her hand. "I'm sorry for accusing you. Please take this as a peace offering," she said, her voice sincere. Sarah looked up, surprised, but a small smile played on her lips.
Mary and Sarah sat together, surrounded by stacks of books on animal behavior for their project. "Did you know dolphins have names for each other?" Sarah asked, her excitement infectious. Mary smiled, feeling the tension between them melt away.
Mary and Sarah lounged on the sofa, reminiscing about their project. "Who would've thought we'd end up friends?" Mary chuckled. Sarah nodded, "I guess sometimes a banana can start a friendship," she replied with a laugh.
Mary and Sarah walked along the shore, the sun warming their faces. "This is way better than school," Sarah said, kicking up sand playfully. Mary nodded, "And to think it all started with a misplaced phone," she mused, grateful for the unexpected turn their relationship had taken.
