Maham, the eldest sibling, sat cross-legged on the patterned rug, carefully cutting out shapes from colorful paper. Amina, her younger sister, hummed a cheerful tune as she painted her paper lantern a brilliant shade of gold. Meanwhile, Hamza, the youngest, eagerly glued sequins onto his lantern, his fingers sticky with glue.
"I can't wait to hang these up," Maham said with a smile.
"They'll look so beautiful at night!" Amina replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Amina stood on her tiptoes, reaching for the jar of dates. Hamza was busy stirring a bowl of batter, his concentration evident as he mixed the ingredients with gusto.
Maham, measuring out spices, explained, "These treats will be perfect for Iftar. Remember, sharing them with our neighbors is the best part!"
"I love when we share them. Everyone is so happy!" Hamza chimed in, licking a bit of batter from his spoon.
Maham, Amina, and Hamza watched the flickering lights of their lanterns with awe. The warm glow illuminated their eager faces as they waited for their parents to signal the start of Iftar.
"Look at all the lanterns outside," Amina whispered, pointing at their neighbors' homes, each adorned with its own unique glow.
"It's like the stars have come down to visit us," Maham responded, her voice filled with wonder.
Hamza bounced excitedly as he helped arrange gift baskets filled with sweets and toys. Amina added the final touches, tying bright ribbons onto each basket.
Maham handed a basket to Hamza, saying, "Let's visit our neighbors and share our Eid joy with them."
"I love giving gifts!" Hamza exclaimed, clutching the basket tightly.
Amina knocked on a door, her smile widening as it opened. The family inside welcomed them warmly, their faces lighting up at the sight of the gift basket.
"Eid Mubarak!" Amina said cheerfully, passing over the basket.
Maham added, "We hope you enjoy these treats."
Hamza sat with his siblings, watching the joyful scene around them. Amina leaned against Maham, both content and happy.
"This is the best Eid ever," Hamza declared, his eyes shining with happiness.
"Yes, it truly is," Maham agreed, her heart full of warmth and love.
