Maya and Lila lay sprawled on the grass, the warmth of the sun kissing their skin. Their laughter bubbled up like a melody, harmonizing with the distant sound of children playing. "I swear, my stomach just sang a whole opera," Maya giggled, pressing her ear against her own belly.
"Well, mine's about to drop the bass," Lila replied, her grin wide as she mirrored Maya's pose.
Maya raised her hand dramatically, "Alright, let's see whose belly can rumble the loudest!" She took a deep breath, focusing intently.
Lila, her eyes twinkling with mischief, placed a hand on her stomach, "Prepare to be amazed," she declared.
Maya turned to Lila, a serious note creeping into her voice. "Do you ever think about what we'll be doing in ten years?"
Lila nodded, her gaze thoughtful as she watched a flock of birds soaring across the sky. "All the time. But as long as we're still laughing together, I think we'll be okay."
Maya sighed contentedly, feeling the cool grass beneath her fingers. "I can't imagine a better place to be right now," she said softly.
Lila smiled, reaching out to squeeze her friend's hand. "Here's to more belly symphonies and dreams shared under the stars," she whispered.
Maya stood, brushing off stray blades of grass. "Same time tomorrow?" she asked, her eyes bright with anticipation.
Lila nodded enthusiastically, "Of course. Our symphony isn't over yet," she replied, slinging her bag over her shoulder.
As they disappeared into the night, the park remained, a silent witness to their joyful symphony, waiting patiently for the next day to begin anew.
