Hen clucked softly to herself as she made her way down the dusty road. Her feathers ruffled slightly in the breeze, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement about her visit to Duck. However, her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a loud commotion up ahead.
"Help me, please," Sheep called out weakly, eyes full of pain. Hen stopped, her heart racing with fear. She shuffled her feet nervously, looking torn between helping and her desire to reach Duck on time.
"I’m sorry," Hen muttered, taking a step back. "I can’t stop. I’ll be late!" With a flutter of wings, she hurried down the road, guilt gnawing at her with every step.
Goat paused mid-chew, his eyes widening as he noticed Sheep. "Oh dear, what happened to you?" he asked, a mixture of curiosity and concern in his voice. Sheep explained his plight, his voice tinged with desperation.
"I wish I could, but I don’t know how to help!" Goat said, scratching his head. "Besides, I have a very busy day." With a shrug, he trotted away, leaving Sheep alone once more.
"Oh no! You look hurt," Pig exclaimed, setting down his basket. "Don’t worry, I’ll help you." With gentle care, he helped Sheep to his feet.
Pig encouraged Sheep to lean on him, his heart full of determination. "I’ll take you to Farmer Cow’s barn," he promised, each step bringing them closer to safety.
Farmer Cow opened the barn door, her eyes widening in concern. "Oh my, what happened?" she asked, taking in the sight of the weary travelers. Pig explained, his voice steady with purpose.
"You’ll be better in no time," Farmer Cow assured with a smile. Pig stayed by Sheep's side until he was settled, receiving heartfelt thanks from his grateful friend.
"It was the right thing to do," Pig said humbly, his eyes meeting those of his fellow animals. "We should all help each other, no matter who we are." The animals nodded in agreement, their spirits uplifted by the power of compassion.
From that day on, the barnyard animals remembered the lesson Pig had taught them. They helped one another without hesitation, ensuring that kindness always bloomed along the dusty country road.
