Lila stood at the edge of the playground, her eyes scanning the vibrant scene. Her fingers twirled a loose strand of hair as she observed her classmates, each engaged in their own worlds of imagination and joy. "Everyone looks like they're having so much fun," she thought to herself, her gaze settling on the solitary figure of Omar.
Lila watched him for a moment, curiosity and hesitation battling within her. "Why is he sitting alone? Doesn't he want to play with us?" she wondered. She remembered her mother's words, spoken with warmth and wisdom, about the importance of kindness and understanding.
With a deep breath, Lila gathered her courage and walked towards Omar. Her footsteps were soft on the grass, and with each step, her resolve grew stronger. "Hi, Omar," she greeted him with a gentle smile.
"Hi, Lila," he replied, his voice quiet but welcoming. Lila glanced at his sketchbook, noticing the intricate drawings of birds and trees. "These are amazing! You draw so well," she exclaimed, genuine admiration in her voice.
Omar smiled, his initial shyness giving way to a shared sense of understanding. "Thanks, Lila. I like drawing because it helps me see the world differently," he explained, his fingers tracing the lines on the page.
Lila nodded, feeling a newfound respect for his perspective. "Maybe you can teach me sometime?" she suggested, her eyes bright with interest.
Omar nodded enthusiastically, his smile growing wider. "I'd like that," he replied, a hint of excitement in his voice. Together, they walked back towards the school building, their steps in sync, a bridge of respect and understanding forming between them.
