Cleo the Cloud hovered above the gentle hills, watching birds swoop and rabbits hop far below. Unlike the other clouds, she had a bright, shimmering rainbow trailing behind her wherever she went. She wondered why she looked so different.
"I wish I had a tail like yours," called a little bluebird flying by.
Cleo watched the other clouds play hide-and-seek behind the sun, wishing she blended in. When she floated closer, the clouds giggled and pointed at her tail, not unkindly but curiously.
Puff, a round, gentle cloud, drifted over and said, "Why is your tail so colorful? Ours are just plain white!"
Cleo noticed the sky was changing. Big gray rain clouds were blocking the sun, and the animals below started to shiver.
"Oh no, everyone looks so gloomy," she whispered. Puff frowned and said, "I wish we could cheer them up, but it’s so dark and rainy!"
Cleo remembered how much the bluebird loved her tail. Taking a deep breath, she floated high and spun in a dazzling loop, letting the sunlight shine through her rainbow colors.
"Let’s make a rainbow for everyone!" she cheered, swirling and twirling so her colors danced across the sky.
Puff and the other clouds cheered as the rainbow grew brighter and brighter. The animals waved their little paws and wings, smiling up at the magical sight.
"Your rainbow tail is wonderful, Cleo! You made the whole sky happy!" Puff said, and all the clouds joined in.
Cleo felt proud and warm inside, knowing she had made a difference by being herself. She smiled at Puff and the other clouds, who now loved her rainbow tail just as much as she did.
"It’s good to be different. Sometimes, our unique traits are what make the world brighter," she said softly.
