Finn the fox stood still, his heart skipping a beat as he noticed the empty space where the moon usually hung. "Where could the moon have gone?" he wondered aloud, a hint of worry in his voice.
Ollie the owl, with feathers ruffled and eyes wide, listened intently as Finn shared his concern. "Ollie, the moon is gone! What if it got lost?" "Hmm, let's find out!" Ollie replied, intrigued by the mystery.
Benny the bear paused his munching, looking thoughtful. "Benny, have you seen the moon?" asked Finn. "No, but I heard a splash in the river last night. Maybe the moon fell in!" he suggested, licking honey from his paws.
Finn and Ollie peered into the river, where ripples distorted the reflection of the sky. "There it is! The moon fell into the river!" exclaimed Finn, his voice a mix of relief and excitement. "That's just the moon’s reflection," Ollie chuckled, explaining the phenomenon to his friend.
"The real moon is in the sky, but it's just hiding. Sometimes, it gets smaller and disappears for a little while. But don’t worry, it always comes back!" Ollie reassured Finn, who sighed in relief. "Phew! I thought we'd have to fish it out!" Finn said, feeling much calmer.
Finn watched the sky with renewed curiosity and understanding, every night bringing a fuller moon. "See you tomorrow, Moon!" he whispered with a smile, knowing now that the moon would always come back, just as his friend Ollie had promised.
